- Where can I find a copy of the school calendar? On the Announcements or Homepage on this site. Please see the right side of the page.
- What time is breakfast served? Beginning at 7am
- How do I call my child in sick? Call the front desk, 875-0700
- What is the field trip protocol? Parents will be notified in advance of field trips. Students will have the option to order a school sack lunch.
- What triggers a “robo call” to my phone? Teachers take attendance at the beginning of every class period, if your child is not in class, they will be marked absent. This will trigger a robo call to you that your child is not in class.
- How do I address any technology concerns that I may be having? Please contact your child’s advisor with issues regarding logging into Powerschool or Google Classroom.
Policies
- What is the hallway policy? No students in the hallways before school or during lunch. Use the class lei as a hall pass (no cell phones to leave the room during class)
- What is the student dress code? They are required to wear a KCS shirt daily. No short shorts or offensive/inappropriate messages or images on their clothes/footwear.
- What is the student cell phone policy? No cell phones during class time. Please do not call your child during school hours. They can answer text messages during lunch and passing periods.

- How do the student clubs work? Students may start a club of their choice. They must submit a
teacher/supervisor.
- Is there after school tutoring/lab? Yes, we have open lab daily from 2:30-3:30pm
- Who do I contact if my child is demonstrating significant behavioral, language, or learning disabilities? Contact our Student Services Coordinator, Lisa Whitten, at [email protected]
- Who do I contact regarding extracurricular athletic programs? Contact our Athletic Coordinator, Dave Kannewurf, at [email protected]
- Does the school give out student awards? Yes, we do end of semester Pillar (Character) awards, as well as academic awards based on GPA
- What is Anonymous Alerts? An app to report incidents at school.

- What are SLC’s? Student Led Conferences are small-group presentations specifically led by students. Students present their portfolios to an audience of their family members and advisor. Fall SLCs will be held the week of October 28 and spring SLCs will be held the week of March 30. Conferences will be scheduled with your student’s advisor.
- What are student portfolios? Student portfolios are a compilation of student works organized within a continuously developing website. Students build portfolios by adding 8 work samples/school year. Students write reflections about how each work sample helped them develop their 21st Century Skills.
- What is Exhibition Night? Families and community members are requested to attend Exhibition Night. During this time students are given the opportunity to showcase and present projects while interacting with various audience members. This year’s exhibition dates are May 5 and 6 from 5-7 p.m. Students are only required to participate in one of these nights.
