Seventh Grade World History Course Description
Topics included in our study of World History begin with the formation of Europe and Russia and the growth of national monarchies from 500 to 1500. We will also explore the Byzantine Empire, China, Japan, and empires in Africa and the Americas. Our next units investigate the Renaissance, the Age of Exploration, the Reformation, and the Scientific Revolution from 1500 -1800. Then we will focus on the democratic revolutions and the Industrial Revolutions of 1500-1900. The interval of Western domination 1750 - 1945 includes imperialism, WW I, Nationalism, the World Depression, WW II. During this unit we will also study the history of Hawaii. Global issues in our interdependent world will be connected to all our units. Mrs. Sherman Bio She earned her secondary teaching certificate from the University of Michigan and her elementary certificate from Michigan State. She is Highly Qualified in both English and Social Studies. Theresa completed a two year training in Waldorf Education and attended summer intensive training in NY, CA, and Washington state. In addition, Theresa has an MBA from Lawrence Technological University. Theresa has taught all grades, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in both private and public schools. Teri has traveled extensively through Europe, Africa, Mexico, and East Asia. Teri has twins, a daughter on Maui and a son in California, as well as three grandchildren. |
